5x7 Postcard Postage

Image
When sending a postcard, the USPS recommends that you use a rectangular, 0.007-inch-thick envelope. The envelope must be three-1/2 inches high by five inches wide and no larger than six-1/2 inches long by one-fourth of an inch thick. The maximum dimensions for 5x7 postcards are three-1/2 inches high by five inches by one-fourth of an inch, and the maximum weight of the mailpiece is two ounces. However, if your card is bigger than these specifications, you must pay for a flat-rate letter. The dimensions of a postcard are also important. A 5"x7-inch postcard is considered a standard-sized letter, but a 5x7-inch-thick postcard is not considered a standard-size postcard. A 6x9-inch-thick postcard is a First-class letter and will be charged the same  postage rates  as a 4"x6-inch-thick letter. Unless the card is oversized, the USPS considers a 5x7-inch postcard to be a First-Class letter. While it costs less than priority mail, it takes much longer to reach its destination. ...

Postcard Size in Inches

Image
Postcards are typically sized in inches. Most standard postcards are 4" x 6" in size. However, there are some exceptions. Some people prefer postcards that are larger, while others prefer a smaller, boxier design. Other   manufacturers   and printing services use slightly different postcard sizes to maximize the number of cards that they can print on a sheet. As such, the size of your postcard can vary up to 1/2 inches. While most countries have different postal regulations, the International Standard Postcard Size is determined by the Universal Postal Union. These postcards should be at least 3.5 x 5 inches. They should be printed on thick cardstock so that they will not fall apart. These dimensions are ideal for postage as postcards don't need to be thick enough to prevent creases. Additionally, they should be durable enough to withstand the postal system and shipping. Postcards without envelopes must adhere to the USPS' standard mailing requirements. Generally, t...

Postcard Size in Centimeters

Image
Traditionally, postcards are printed on a standard A6 paper. The dimensions of this postcard are 148 mm x 105 mm (that's 5.8 in x 4.1 in). The United States Postal Service has set minimum and maximum sizes for the A6 card, which means it must be between three and six centimeters (0.9 inches and one inch) in length. According to the UPU, the aspect ratio of a postcard should be 2:1, but if the postcard is wider or thinner than the A6 size, it is not allowed to be wider or shorter than the minimum and maximum dimensions. The modern standard for postcards is 6 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches (14 cm x 10.5 inches). It's the most common postcard size, but the traditional size is more than twice as large. In the United States, these cards are classified as "oversized" compared to their  European counterparts . In other countries, a smaller standard is used for a standard sized postcard, but it's still important to know how to read the postcard's size. US postcards are made fro...

Is 4x6 a Standard Postcard Size?

Image
When it comes to postcard size, 4" x 6" is the most common standard. This fits into the guidelines for the U.S. Post Office and the special postcard postage rate. However, a few makers and printing services use slightly different sizes. While many people prefer boxier designs, others might want a larger format to maximize the number of postcards printed on a sheet. Regardless of the reasons, 4x6 is a standard postcard size that is both practical and inexpensive. While this standard postcard size is ideal for marketing purposes, some people opt for different sizes for personal or business cards. A popular choice for many businesses is a 4" x 6"  marketing card . Unlike the smaller, trifold-style postcards, these can be folded to fit in a  letter envelope . The U.S. Postal Service also charges lower rates for smaller postcards when mailed via first-class mail. Postcards have been around for almost as long as postal services, and they come in a variety of shapes and ...

Postal Postcard Sizes

If you plan on mailing a postcard, you should know that different postcard sizes are available in the market. This is because postcards of smaller sizes can be mailed through the USPS for only 28 cents a piece, as compared to the standard letter-size rate of $.33 per piece. This type of mail is much faster and can be forwarded faster if the recipient changes his or her address. However, if you do not want to use the  same size  as your target audience, you should choose a bigger one. There are two different postcard sizes available, standard and priority. First-class mail is usually the most affordable, while priority mail takes longer to reach its destination. Both types of mail require the same standard postcard sizes, and the postal services have different weight requirements, depending on the size of the postcard. Besides, the size of a postcard will have to be within the guidelines, as the USPS does not allow larger postcards to be mailed through the USPS. The Stan...
